WP-SpamFree Updated - Version 1.1 Released
by Scott AllenWP-SpamFree has been out for about 2 months now it seems to be loved by all (except comment spammers). We got it hosted on WordPress.org a month ago, and today hit our 1,000th download on that site. Since launch, we’ve had 332 tracked downloads from this site (which doesn’t include direct links so it’s probably a good deal higher). All in all, that’s upwards of 1,330 downloads since launch. Not too bad for a new plugin. If you haven’t yet experienced its comment-spam fighting superpowers, you’ll definitely want to install WP-SpamFree. Recent statistics show that unemployment among comment spammers has gone up 4000% since we launched this plugin. Ok, maybe we made that up, but you get the idea. :)
In this version. I’ve made a few improvements that help improve security and SEO by preventing private directory contents from being viewed by visitors and search engines. Upgrade when you get a chance.
If you haven’t installed WP-SpamFree yet, try it out — you’ll be able to enjoy blogging again. :)
